The former First Lady of Ethiopia and CEO of Hailemariam & Roman Foundation (HRF) H.E Roman Tesfaye, delivered a keynote address at the 12th Africa Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) special session for First Ladies, which discussed the role of women in boosting food systems.

She also emphasized the role of women in bolstering food systems, stating that if the continent is to build resilient food systems successfully, they need to be given a voice.

“Women are more concerned about nutrition than anybody else. We are happy that it is now a concern for all in the world, including men and women,” she said, reiterating the call to boost nutrition.

Additionally, H.E. Roman highlighted the progress in Ethiopia by remarking that children who participated in school meal programs reported better academic performance, gained weight, and had a lower rate of absenteeism and dropping out.
