The Hailemariam & Roman Foundation (HRF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Consortium of Self-help group Approach Promoters (CoSAP) on February 23, 2026, at the HRF Head Office in Addis Ababa to strengthen collaboration on women’s economic empowerment and financial inclusion initiatives.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, H.E. Mrs. Roman Tesfaye, Former First Lady of Ethiopia and CEO of HRF, emphasized the critical role of women in community development, noting that women reinvest more than 80 percent of their earnings in their families and communities, thereby driving sustainable social and economic change.
Mr. Yosef Akalu, Executive Director of CoSAP, expressed gratitude to HRF for its commitment to promoting the Self-Help Group (SHG) approach and highlighted the Foundation’s strong convening capacity to scale women-focused development programs at national and continental levels.
The Consortium of Self-help group Approach Promoters (CoSAP) is a national network of organizations dedicated to advancing the Self-Help Group model across Ethiopia, working to empower women through savings-led, community-based financial inclusion and livelihood support.
