The Hailemariam & Roman Foundation (HRF), in collaboration with the South Ethiopia Regional Health Bureau and Wolaita Sodo University, conducted a comprehensive family planning training for 24 healthcare workers drawn from Primary Health Care Units across South Ethiopia in Wolaita Sodo from March 16–27, 2026.

The training equipped participants with practical skills in client-centered family planning counseling and service delivery, with a focus on improving quality and expanding access to a range of contraceptive methods, including short-acting options and long-acting reversible methods, to support informed choices and better health outcomes.

The initiative is part of HRF’s broader Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (RMNCH) technical assistance program, supported by the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen health systems and expand equitable access to quality reproductive health services in underserved communities across South Ethiopia.
