The UN Climate Change Conference 2023 (COP28), which brought together global leaders at a critical time for global transformational climate action, began on 30 November and continues until 12 December 2023 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Speaking at  soil health dinner panel of  COP28 yesterday, the Former Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Chair of AGRA & HRF Board Chair,  H.E. Hailemariam Dessalegn said soil health improvement requires determination in taking measures like investing in and developing a continental nutrient road map so that deficits are well understood and efficiently intervened.

“Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and regenerative agriculture are equally important to strengthen erosion control techniques,” he added.

Further, His Excellency underscored reducing trade obstacles and standardizing laws and regulations are what must be done to enable us to directly provide farmers throughout Africa with more efficient solutions.
