H.E. Roman Tesfaye, former First Lady of Ethiopia and Chief Executive Officer of the Hailemariam & Roman Foundation (HRF), attended the UNDP Ethiopia Annual Development Conference held on 26 January 2026, at the Hyatt Regency in Addis Ababa.

The high-level conference, organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Ethiopia under the theme โ€œNavigating an Uncertain Global Economy and Creating Jobs: Policy Options for Ethiopia to 2035,โ€ brought together senior government officials, development partners, economists, private sector leaders, and policy experts to engage in dialogue on Ethiopiaโ€™s economic outlook and long-term development priorities.

Firmly anchored in the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework and aligned with Ethiopiaโ€™s Ten-Year Development Plan and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the conference provided a platform for discussions on strengthening human capital development, advancing gender equality, addressing geographic disparities, enhancing resilience, and promoting inclusive growth that ensures no one is left behind.

H.E. Roman Tesfayeโ€™s participation reflected the shared commitment of national and international partners to inclusive, job-centered growth and sustainable development in Ethiopia. Her insights were informed by her extensive experience in development, including her previous role as a staff member with UNDP Ethiopia.
