In collaboration with the Oromia Regional Health Bureau and the Hailemariam & Roman Foundation (HRF), the FDRE Ministry of Health convened a high-level advocacy conference and training session on the current situation and response to HIV/AIDS on May 22-23, 2024 in Adama City.
The event was attended by the former First Lady of Ethiopia and CEO of HRF, H.E. Roman Tesfaye, the Deputy Bureau Head of the Oromia Regional State, Dr. Gusha Baleko, and the Lead Executive Officer of the HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Office at the Ministry of Health, Mr. Fekadu Yadeta. Religious leaders, Abba-Gada and Hadha-Sinqe also participated in the event.
An overview of the current HIV/AIDS situation in the region was presented at the conference, and extensive discussions were held. The training continued on the second day, and the attendees pledged to intensify addressing HIV/AIDS issues in the region.
