Hailemariam & Roman Foundation (HRF)’s high-level delegation visited South Omo Zone, Hamer and Bena-Tsemay Woredas of the SNNPR to observe the implementation of women’s economic empowerment projects. In this project, 187 female pastoralists in 17 kebeles of the two pastoralist woredas are organized in 24 associations and are engaged in goat fattening and food processing activities.
During the field visit, the high-level working team observed the activities of women pastoralists engaged in goat fattening and food processing activities. These women had received various trainings to improve their skills owing to funding HRF received from the Embassy of Finland in Addis Ababa.
During the field trip, the female pastoralists expressed their gratitude for the Foundation’s assistance, saying that it had allowed them to fatten goats and engage in food processing as a source of income.
